Since we bought our first house in Australia, we got $14,000 from the government for the deposit (after June 2009, it goes back down to $7,000) and about another $5,000 savings from our closing (settlement in Australia) fees from the government and bank!

Hospital again
Thursday, December 18th, 2008A few days ago we had to readmit LJ to the hospital. This time around the ER staff were horrible but the night nurses were awesome. I guess just like anywhere else, you can enounter wonderful souls or idiots no matter where you live.

Australian hospital
Friday, December 12th, 2008LJ started with a fever last Thursday. On Friday, took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with tonsilitis. Penicillin was prescribed. On Saturday, he had a rash all over his body. Back to the doctor, and it turns out he’s allergic to penicillin. He still has tonsilitis so another antibiotic is given. After [...]
