You get free money! (Sort of).  Since we bought our first house in Australia, we got $14,000 from the government for the deposit (after June 2009, it goes back down to $7,000) and about another $5,000 savings from our closing (settlement in Australia) fees from the government and bank!

Hospital again

A few days ago we had to readmit LJ to the hospital.  This time around the ER staff were horrible but the night nurses were awesome.  I guess just like anywhere else, you can enounter wonderful souls or idiots no matter where you live.

LJ started with a fever last Thursday.  On Friday, took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with tonsilitis.  Penicillin was prescribed.  On Saturday, he had a rash all over his body.  Back to the doctor, and it turns out he’s allergic to penicillin.  He still has tonsilitis so another antibiotic is given.  After [...]
