Happy Thanksgiving
Friday, November 28th, 2008It’s Thanksgiving back home and I’m missing it! We would have had turkey and the works here but a small turkey cost about $40 and it wasn’t worth it when we need to save all our (electronic) pennies for our house. We hope to do Thanksgiving here next year in our own house, God willing.
V8 Supercars weekend
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008In my previous post, I mentioned how miserable I was but didn’t get a chance to explain. Well here it goes. A few months ago, I order tickets for the V8 Supercars race here as an early Christmas gift for my hubby who is a major Holden fanatic. How was I to know that I [...]
Stressed and Miserable
Monday, November 24th, 2008Yep, that’s me. I’m stressed and miserable. And I don’t even know how to begin to explain why. And LJ just woke up from his nap so I guess I won’t be attempting to explain at the moment but I’ll leave you with:
The Flu
Windburn on face
Sunburn on face
House issues
Bank issues
Lawyer issues
Work issues
Parent issues

Empty lawns
Wednesday, November 19th, 2008While watching reruns of Desperate Housewives this afternoon while LJ napped and while making lists of things we need to do once we move into our new house, I realized something. Back home (at least the part of NJ that I’m from), it’s common to sit in the front lawn while the kids play. We [...]
What I like about Australia, part 2
Thursday, November 13th, 2008I’m a total carb person. I really love bread. I think if had to pick one food that I could eat everyday, anywhere, I would choose bread (cheese is a close runner up but only cheese that I can find in the US).
However, in the States, we ate whatever bread I could find in the [...]
On the edge of my seat
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008I have never been this excited about a US election before. Is it because I’m not there? Or the past 8 years have been so horrible to the American way of life and it’s time for a change? Or because I voted via absentee ballot or my hubby voted for the first time as a [...]
What I like about Australia
Monday, November 3rd, 2008I have decided to try coming up with at least one thing a week about what I like about Australia to balance out all the many negatives.
The first thing I must say I like is that taxes (or as the locals say, GST) is already included in the price of things so the guesswork is [...]
Phone discovery
Sunday, November 2nd, 2008I woke up at 5:50am this morning and I couldn’t get back to sleep. MJ was sleeping soundly beside me and LJ slept like a baby in his room. I debated what to do. Do I get up and start my day or try to sleep or wake MJ up or something? Well I was [...]
