Friday, October 31st, 2008I know that I have mentioned that Australia is very family friendly but a family friendly sex shop in Australia?? Oh c’mon, what lowlife will take their 3 year old to a sex shop and tell them “ok behave and draw me a picture with this nice lady while I go shop for naughty underwear“.
Howdy, partner?
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008Americans speak English.
Australians speak English.
But apparently, English is very broad and English is used differently within the 2 countries.
We all know the different spelling…extra ‘u’ in words like color and favorite or an “s’ in place of “z” in words like baptize becoming baptise or an extra ‘i’ in aluminum therefore creating a whole different [...]
Quick update on house
Monday, October 27th, 2008We have found a house! It’s not perfect. It is small and not in the suburb I wanted but it’s still a great area. It has all the features we wanted: separate laundry room, not too old, garage, 3 bedrooms, and so forth.
We have met with the financing people but they [...]
Blogs, forums, and websites
Saturday, October 25th, 2008As I’m contemplating the million and one things I need to do while LJ has his nap (and while MJ “rests” his eyes next to me on the couch), I realize I spend way too much time on the internet. Besides this blog which I honestly do try to update as often as I [...]
We have voted!
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008So we finally received our absentee ballots and we voted. MJ voted for the first time (he became a US citizen less than a year ago)! It was a lot of paperwork but hopefully well worth it. We felt so good about marking off that little box so we hope the next [...]
Australians are slobs
Saturday, October 18th, 2008We went to McDonalds today. We don’t normally dine-in at McHeartAttack but LJ was very upset that we took him away from the park where there were some fun Children’s Week activities so to make it up to him we went for some McNuggets. As soon as we walked in, the mess hit me. On [...]
Organizing my crap
Thursday, October 16th, 2008As I have mentioned before, I’m a little OCD when it comes to organizing, therefore, I have a filing cabinet and binders and a million other handy office supplies. With the end of the year almost on us and since we will still have to do our American income tax in January, I decided that [...]
Money for buying a house!
Wednesday, October 15th, 2008The Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd (not to sure what he does, I’m assuming he’s like the President - still trying to get a hang of the government here) announced yesterday that he hopes to give first time home buyers in Australia $14,000 to go toward the purchase of their first home and if [...]
There’s trash everywhere
Saturday, October 11th, 2008Yesterday, I had a craving for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups so my hubby took me to a candy store (that’s confectionary shop in Australia) where they sell some American candy. On our way out and back to the car, I saw a little girl about 3 years old and her mother walking toward us. The [...]
Feeling like crap
Friday, October 10th, 2008Yep, it’s one of those days and I feel like crap. My In-laws have passed on their germs to me and now I’m sick. I have a sore throat and a cough that feels like I’m hacking up a lung. I have a vicious headache. Ugh, I need a nap.
